I Take You by Eliza Kennedy review

I joined Blogging for Books back in 2014 and finally got around to reading and reviewing the first book I requested. The the title of that book is I Take You, Here is the summary from Amazon’s website:

Meet Lily Wilder: New Yorker, lawyer extraordinaire, blushing bride. And totally incapable of being faithful to one man.

Lily’s fiancé Will is a brilliant, handsome archaeologist. Lily is sassy, impulsive, fond of a good drink (or five) and has no business getting married. Lily likes Will, but does she love him? Will loves Lily, but does he know her? As the wedding approaches, Lily’s nights—and mornings, and afternoons—of booze, laughter and questionable decisions become a growing reminder that the happiest day of her life might turn out to be her worst mistake yet.

Unapologetically sexy with the ribald humor of Bridesmaids, this joyously provocative debut introduces a self-assured protagonist you won’t soon forget.

And boy where they right. This isn’t a book I would normally read, I’m really into YA Fiction novels, but I couldn’t help myself to have a love/hate relationship with Lily Wilder as time went on.

2017 Reading List

I have a lot of books I need to read and even more that I find interesting and need to go out and buy. I took some time to go onto Goodreads and assemble a bookshelf full of the books that I have purchased and need to read. You can follow me and that bookshelf specifically here and take a look at what I keep buying to read! The shelf ‘Need to Read’ is the shelf where I have purchased the book and desperately need to read and review it, the shelf ‘Want to Read’ is mainly just books that catch my eye. So without further ado, here is my 2017 Reading List thus far! This is in no particular order in which I’ll read them, just the first one is what I’m going to read first.

New Years Resolutions are Useless.

Happy 2017 everybody! I hope you all survived your new year parties with a minimal hangover. It’s that time of the new year where everybody puts out a list of things that they want to accomplish this year. Most of the time they read “Go to the gym three times a week!” or “Start eating healthier!” and most of the time people don’t end up fulfilling them. Which is why I never make New Years Resolutions because I know I’ll never fulfill eating healthy and going to the gym. Until this year where I’m feeling like really trying to make a change. So here are my New Years Resolutions and my reasoning for them:

It’s that time of the year again.

And no, I don’t mean Christmas. Although that is very exciting for most people, i’m talking about it being that time of year where it’s finals week and I kind of just die. I’ve got no real excuse to say about why I haven’t written – I have 2 posts that are drafts that I’ve written an introduction for. They’ve kind of just been sitting in my post queue for a couple of weeks waiting for me to finish them and publish.

DOCTOR STRANGE movie review

The time has finally come for Alyssa to come out of the shadows and review another Marvel movie. Doctor Strange was hyped and highly anticipated by people all over the world. Some of the reasons why it was hyped may not have been the best reason, like white-washing the Ancient One by casting Tilda Swinton, but none the less people were excited to see the official debut of the Sorcerer Supreme, Stephen Strange. I finally got around to seeing it Sunday night in full IMAX 3D glory, and my god this movie was fucking fantastic in every single way I can think of.

Read my spoiler warning here before moving forward.

Why I Write

in the school

Before you read, be sure to check out the announcement from Friday on Guest Posters!

I am a right-brained person. What does that mean? It means that I am more creative than people who are left-brained, who are typically more analytical and logical. Being right-brained explains why I find myself in endless day dreams while listening to my favorite bands and it explains why I like to write so much.
